Growing a beard.
Published By Patrick Brown (the Kiwi Beardsman)
To grow a beard, you need to have hair on your face. A lot of guys are born with the ability to grow facial hair, but for some people it takes a little longer to grow in. If you're not one of those lucky people, don't fret! You can still get that beard you've always wanted with some time and patience.
First off, it's important to understand that beards actually require maintenance and grooming just like any other part of your body. They will need regular washing and brushing in order to stay clean and healthy. When it comes to growing a beard, the two most important things are patience and regularity!
1 Identify your beard goals.
Looking for the right beard shape is key to setting your look and what suits you best. Match your face shape to the style of beard you are after with our choose your beard style quiz (coming soon) or you could check out the Top 20 Beard style of 2022 (coming soon) blog
It is important to bear in mind that not all beards grow the same, some beards grow patchy on the cheeks and have full growth around the chin so consider a goatee or a beard style for example like Keanu Reeves, and other beards grow full and thick so you could consider a beard style for example like Mel Gibson
2 Be Patient
Patience is key to growing that beard you've always wanted. It can take up to two months for your beard to full in and start growing to its full potential. Your beard transforms every week so that's why you need to be patient and let the magic happen. Because Rome wasn't built in a day.
3 Define your shape
Tidying up your neckline and around your cheeks will help you define the shape of your beard and keep your looking tidy for all occasions. But bear in mind if you cut too much off your neckline it can affect the fullness of your beard hair growing on your chin.
4 Maintain as you grow
This may seem counter-productive to number 2 but like the hair on your head your need to get it cut to maintain its shape, also to help hair grow where it needs to, and to help you define the shape of your beard and the style you are after. Also using the right styling product will help define and train your beard hair which we will cover in the next stage.
5 Choosing the right products
Choosing the right beard care product is essential to healthy hair growth. Using a few drops of beard oil will give your beard all the nutrients your hair and skin need to stay healthy and give it a nice shine at the same time, using a beard balm is key to keeping your beard styled and shaped nicely. check out our beard oils oils and balms here.
You should also consider an all-natural beard wash to keep your beard clean and eliminate dry skin. If you have really bad dry skin consider using a hemp oil base beard wash. you can find high-quality beard washes beard wash here.
6 Brush it out
At the end of every day brushing your beard will help exfoliate the dead skin cells and prevent future flaking.
